Viscri fortified church
Viscri, Romania – 2024. In May 2024 I worked on a volunteer project for the Fuller Center for Housing in Romania. Following the build 14 members of the build team went on a five day walking tour in central Transylvania. On the fifth day of our hiking we were in the Saxon village of Viscri and visited its fortified church. During the 13th century the Saxons built the main tower and expanded an existing nave of the church. The fortifications were added during the 15th century.
